Default Fighters Who Could Of Been One Of The Greatest Of All Time

Pancho Villa = He died at 23 its scary thought how good he could of been.

Salvador Sanchez = Died at 22 or 23 yet he beat more All Time Greats than most boxers do in there entire Career.

Mike Tyson = Bad habits and Cus dying he could of been one of the Greatest Hw's of all time.

Roy Jones = Had he retired after Ruiz i think its good chance Jones would be top 10 P4P.

Charles Burley = Amazing fighter was ducked by likes of Robinson i think he could of been one of the greatest had he of got his chance.

Aaron Pryor = Similar to Tyson had very bad habits ruined his career and was ducked by some of the big boys aswell imagine how great he could of been ??

    Its a strange thing man

Like many of the fighhters that were at the top of theyre game in the ninetees they all seemed to be fighting amazing competition and acting like real champs

The likes of barrera morales trinidad oscar were all fighting big great fights and champions and collecting titles

But of course toney unlike the likes of tito had the most amazing style and skill to go all the way with it, where as tito would have and did slip eventually

The competition was still there had toney kept on the strait and narrow im still bitter he never had the chance to stay low in weight and fight julian jackson, eubanks , benn, even maybe a fight with norris and more big names on his resume would have been amazing

I already think he is one of the best of all time, but he would have been THE BEST if he had half a brain. There was only one man who could beat Mike Tyson and that was Mike Tyson and in the end that's what he did.

    Mike Tyson
Harry Simon(gave Winky a hell of a fight in just his 15th fight.
    Ike Ibeabuchi(could still be champ)
Sonny Liston(if he had been born a few years later he may have been the most dominant fighter of the golden era)
Roy Jones Jr(I consider him it, but he could have faced more SMW's)
    James Toney(better work ethic)
    Michael Nunn
McClellan if he hadn't gotten hurt in his fight
David Tua(what a tank if he stayed in shape who knows)
can't think of any more at the moment

Good call on Villa. That young and already has over 100 fights. I cant imagine what he would have accomplished by 30.

Donald Curry. If he had more discipline (was known to blow up between fights) and didn't over stay his stay at welterweight. He would of been great.

Mark Breland. If he had a chin he would of been great. The skills were there

Ike Quartey. All he needed to do (against De La Hoya and Vargas) was let his hands go more.

Im happy he wont go down in histoy as a great fighter. He doesnt deserve that. He was disrespectful to everyone especially his opponents...and women. He was a tough fighter but hopefully we dont see the likes of him again.

I am going to upset my fellow Aussie fight fans here by nominating Kostya Tszyu, like Aaron Pryor Tszyu was ducked by a lot of the AAA fighters during his ten year reign as the 140lb King. DLH, Mosley and PBF all avoided the big punching KT denying him a real marquee name on his resume. JCC was well past his best when he fought Tszyu so let's not bring him up, Tszyu lost to Vince Phillips and he shouldn't have and i look at his impressive record and have to argue that all time greatness just eludes him without a win against the fighters mentioned above. Tszyu is no doubt one of the best Jr Welters ever but just falls short of all time greatness. Had Tszyu been more active and perhaps moved up and taken the 147lb title then all time greatness would be his.
Salvador Sanchez makes it due to his wins against Gomez and Nelson, Pryor doesn't because he didn't get to fight Duran, Leonard or Hearns. Tszyu is in the Pryor category.
