Having seen the era when boxing was one of the top sports in this country, well ahead of Basketball for popularity two things have killed the sport,PPV,and Casino fights.
Its penny wise, and pound foolish,to get fans for the sport, casual fans have to be able to see the fighters. It used to be even if you didnt have alot of money you could pony up a little money for a nose bleed seat at the Spectrum,or watch it at home.
Good luck affording a ticket at the Borgata,or affording the PPV,Boxing is really a poor mans sport, that poor men cant watch anymore
I don't disagree about the PPV's or ticket prices, but that isn't an issue confined to Khan's situation. Plenty of fights that shouldn't be on PPV are, for higher prices than what Warren was charging to see the Khan match. If there's a market for it, promoters are going to make as much money as they can.

I've never seen people so pissed off about a PPV (which anyone with an internet connection could've watched for free), their anger had more to do with who was fighting and promoting the card than the fact that they had to pay if they wanted to see it.
Oh trust me having Warren for his promoter is part of it,but lets face it people were bent when that recent Holyfield fight was PPV too
Yeah, and maybe this just speaks to Khan's popularity/notoriety, but there was nowhere near as much anger directed at Holyfield as there was a Khan.
