Do we judge fighters too much by words ascribed to them rather than heard directly?

I thought this was one of my more boring postings.

Its not that I totally disagree with you, the last line of the post just made me laugh, it seemed kind of boy scoutish, like you were some high school kid pledging to hold on to your virginity until you were married.

But really I don't see any reason to completely ignore boxing journalists. Its fairly rare that they just make up quotes for people I assume, I have no doubt that Kelly said what he said. Sometimes they can arrange quotes in a different manner to make it look different, and sometimes they "summarize" what the person said at the top of the article only when you actually read the quotes you find out they didn't quite mean what the author said they meant but they don't just make shit up. For the most part.

I don't see any problem with Amir. I think generally some people, not saying all but some, who might have already disliked him say he's arrogant as a justification of their dislike for him. Like me when I talk about Wlad being boring, etc.

Kind of my thoughts too. Bilbo still riding on his self righteous, soapbox, holier than thou trip. He's just making sure when others criticise in the future he can say how wrong they are and make 10 threads about it.
