Life must be so difficult for too many in the UK who just "don't fit" and where people target them just for being a bit different. It's very, very sad. I don't think I will ever return permanently. The UK is a wonderful place if you just subtract 70% of the population.
Personally I blame all the expat English teachers but what do I know, being a Canadian I should probably just be happy that I'm sober enough to type...

We have a lot of racism around here as well. Primarily it's directed at the indigenous peoples, but people also seem to direct it at the Indian and Asian communities as well. One thing I've noticed over the last few years is a sharp rise in xenophobic and anti-immigrant attitudes, which is painfully ironic to say the least given many peoples views towards the First Nations...
