Calzaghe has a big ego and wont want to chance a loss now, knowing hes older and has been out a few months and has decided enough that he has anounced a retirement, he wont come back, or at least has no plans to.

Unless......

The super 6 winner, which wont be for a couple of years yet, really becomes a star and offers Joe a big wad, id say like 10 million to make it worth him thinking about it, there is the chance the tournament falls on its face and the only oponents id see Joe coming back to fight if they emerged as stars are Abraham or Froch, hes done Kessler and neither Ward or Dirrell seem to have enough of an attraction, whereas Abraham might turn out to be a bit of a wreaking machine and Froch is such a priick, people would love to see Calzaghe slap him to bits but it would have to be up at light heavy at least.

The tournament winner might even fight Dawson and then you have an eliminator to fight Joe

Going by pictures of Joe, he hasnt really let himself go out of shape, he may be ticking over knowing the right offer might come along
