    Post Mayweather vs Pacquiao Resumes

Alright let's look at their resume's since people call Pacquiao the greatest since Henry armstrong etc etc

So I thought I'd dig up bot htheir records and look at both of their big fights or title fights where they won titles and who they were against, if I make any mistakes let me know.

I'll start at when they both won their first world titles. I spent a lot of hours typing this up, I hope you all enjoy it.

Alright Pacquiao won his first title in 1998
The WBC Flyweight title against Chatchai Sasakul whom you've probably never heard of, but then again around that time I don't think Flyweights were looked at too much. Interesting fact though, according to the scores he was losing before a dramatic come from behind KO. Pacquiao defended his title twice before getting knocked out in his third title defense and losing his title at the scales.

    **Edited Post Note**
According to forum posters miron_lang and generalbulldog who disagreed here and informed be who Sasakul was, apparently he was the recognized lineal champ at the time. And they consider this a greater victory because of Pacquiao accomplishing this at the age of 19. baring this in mind, I shall weigh it with the below.

Floyd Mayweather won his first title against Genaro Hernandez in 1998. The guy whose only loss was to Oscar De La Hoya and that was outside of 130 where he was undefeated at. Mayweather defended his title without losing it and soon entered a megafight with Diego Corrales after a rough performance against Emanuel Augustus.

    Advantage: Pacquiao

Just because of the name he fought and the standing and the fact the person Pacquiao beat was the lineal champion and as I stated before he could have been the best Flyweight at the time, I'd never heard of him. According to generalbulldog and miron_lang, he was; baring this in mind, while Mayweather's victory was impressive, it does not trump Pacquiao's 19 year old accomplishment.

    Alright

Next up, the next time Pacquiao won a world title was in 2001. When he was brought in as a late substitute against Lehlonolo Ledwaba wh owas the champion at the time of Super Bantamweight. This is what many consider Pacquiao's breakout performance because he was seen on the world stage and he had an impressive awesome performance and seemed like the next best exciting featherweight since Naseem Hamed, according to Emanuel Stewart. This is Pacquiao's second world title, in a second weight class. His next fight was against Agapito Sanchez in an extremely dirty fight that saw it end in a 6 round Draw.

2001 was also a big year for Floyd Mayweather, who still defending his title at 130 was in a mega fight with Diego "Chico" Corrales. Corrales was a favorite going in I believe and it was expected to be an exciting fight where some people were drawn who would get where. But this supposed close fight quickly became a one sided massacre from the first bell as Mayweather completely dominated Diego Corrales like no one else had done before or since, dropping him 5 times en route to a 10th round stoppage winning every round. There was some question whether or not Corrales' weight had anything to do with his loss to Mayweather, but given the one sidedness of the performance it could be argued that Mayweather would have beaten Corrales regardless. He followed this up with a spirited effort against Carlos Hernandez, with two broken hands. And then went on toe beat Jesus chavez in his final fight at 130

    Advantage: Mayweather

At this point of their careers, nearing the end of 2001 Mayweather has the better resume. But soon the turning point in Pacquiao's career happened.
