Good interview, interesting he thought Calzaghe was a heavy puncher back in the day, those hand injuries obviously got to him later in his career.

Yeah I was caught a bit off by that as well...Considering he fought Benn who was a murderous puncher at times....Though if you look back on the early Calzaghe he stopped all but 1 of his opp when he faced Eubank...I always considered Joe a guy who stopped his opp simply on Mass of shots

I think Calzaghe obviously hit alot harder in his early career but he was never a knockout fighter like you say it was mass of shots and speed that took guys out.
