Seriously, i like Hatton and he's been great for Boxing. His performance against Tszyu was great. Hatton had an effective style and decent skills. He struggled with speed and combinations and that's the one thing that stopped him from being elite. He'd struggle at 140 against Bradley, Alexander and Khan, and none of the others are worth coming back for. He should enjoy himself now. He's done so much more than he could have imagined possible, and he's set for life. He's nothing left to prove, and in any case 10 stone would most likely be a pipedream. That leaves him at 147, which is probably tougher than 140. He's the reason i joined the forum and for that i am grateful. He's given me many happy memories, and i doubt i'll ever feel as nervous about watching a fighter ever again.
some great sentiments there mate
Pains me to think of the situation nowadays,
had hatton-khan of happened with both in their prime khan would of eat leather all night and probably been stopped inside 5-6 rounds
Id like ricky to have one more just so the fans can get to say their goodbyes. Not an elite level fighter but just someone who can bang and make ricky look good at doing what he does best (katsidis springs to mind)
I disagree with that. I see Hatton struggling big time no matter what shape he's in. I don't think he's that different from what he was in his prime. He's just been in with speed and he's struggled. He's never been hard to hit and it's a myth that he once had a great chin. He just wasted a lot of time fighting guys who were beneath him talent wise, so on the odd occasion where he was hurt (Magee, Phillips etc) the guys were either not good enough, or too long in the tooth to really finish him off.
Don't get me wrong, he could rattle Khan early because Khan is and probably always will be vulnerable, but i think it's more likely that Khan's speed and combinations have Hatton in a lot of trouble.
That's just my opinion and i can totally see the argument for Hatton ko'ing Khan.
