Overrated
Frnk hows things mate?
I don't no man, I dont think he is over rated, I think majority of boxing fans no what Hatton is, he was a world class fighter who gives majority of fighters a good fight, he is not an elite fighter. Would of loved Hatton of 2005 to have been around now at 140 to see what would of happened.
He's currently competing with Fat Mick for the title of Britain's fattest boxing promoter. He's also working on a drinking problem apparently.
He would have still lost versus Mayweather but he gave him a good fight and really had nothing to be ashamed of unlike the Pacquiao performance which was a disaster. What does 'this generation' mean, Pacquiao and Mayweather both made stops at 140 and were better but Hatton could have stayed at 140 and been quite good. I have no interest in seeing Hatton fight anymore...
What does 'this generation' or 'modern era' mean? I mean I would consider Chavez of the 'modern era' but maybe not this generation, Pryor too.
140 pounds is just a stepping stone division though not very often do guys stick around there, great fighters like Whitaker, Mayweather, Pacquiao and De La Hoya have all competed at 140 but didn't stick arouund for more then a couple fights. Even Hatton only fought Maussa, Urango, Castillo, Lazcano, Malignaggi and Pacquiao at 140 as a titlist which really isn't the most impressive bunch in the world.
