if the blueprint is "wait for Williams to leave himself open and throw a one punch KO" that's not a very good one.
That's like saying the blueprints out on how to beat Duran because of what Hearns did, or how to beat Khan because Prescott did it.
And one shot one punch KO doesn't mean the blueprint on how to beat Williams is there. It was a perfectly timed great shot from a great fighter. The blueprint on how to beat Williams really won't be there until he consistently loses against it.
The blueprint is that Williams has nil for defense as he was caught with 4 flush fight enders prior to bomb. He counts on volume and pressure as total package & when your face starts running into frequent fists you encounter problems. Being timed and countered with left hooks resulting in nose dives to the canvas as an example.
Duran who had gone prior 15 with Hagler will never be confused with Williams. And he had more to fall back on as far as skill. Khan...um ok

Yes but you'd have to be expecting him to leave himself as badly wide open as that.
If the blueprint is just waiting on that shot to come a lot of people are going to be unsuccessful with that. If you want a fight for a blueprint look at the first Quintana fight.
But it's not like it really worked the second time around.
There is no real "formula" for beating Williams, it's all about taking what he gives you. And what he gave Martinez was all Martinez needed to knock him out. But it was far from the blueprint to beating Williams.
