I don't know man. I mean lets look at the most harrowing, destructive war of them all World War 2. You can't tell me that for literally millions of those who lived through, and even fought through that war that it wasn't in some ways the defining, maybe even the greatest times of their lives in some sense.
The pride they felt fighting against the enemy. The comoradarie and brotherhoods that were formed. The sense of unity for a common purpose, the belief that they were fighting for something that mattered.
Don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying they are glad the war happened or attempting to trivialise it. But as humans we define ourselves by our wars. They form the critical periods of our history.
This sight, of which you are a member, is dedicated to that noble art of punching another man into submission.
It is fascinating for all of us. Hell you even started the thread with the word's 'Things are about to get interesting', not harrowing or tragic, or appalling, but interesting.
You're the same as me buddy. You may argue against it, but when it comes to it, you will turn on the tv, and log onto to the same interent reports as me, probably buying the Electronic Arts videogame of the conflict to come and playing it on your PS4 in a couple years time, all the while knowing that you yourself deplore war, and the tragedy that ensues.
