Where's the tear gas? Where are the barricades? As police their job is to PROTECT and SERVE and I've seen very little if any evidence of either.

However let me just add that while I was brought up to hate Thatcher, i have to point out that she created a much needed (if ill fated) bubble for which our nation was able to float on. How did those "warning" gunshots do in the LA riots? There were 50-60 killed, right? Thousands injured? So far there has been one man shot and three people killed in a hit-and-run connected to this madness. It's petering out.

Many communities protected their homes/businesses with sheer numbers and baseball bats/clubs/coshes. They didn't need guns to scare the rats away.
