As good as the mid-late 80's welter crew of Curry, Starling, Honeyghan, McCrory, Blocker, Bumphus, Brown etc were.

    And they were terriffic!

I really think Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns and Roberto Duran (in top shape) were on a different plane. I think Hearns takes Curry out,
Tommy Hearns would be the favourite but i wouldn't be 100 percent confident, Donald Curry had terrific timing and very good power. If he landed flush on Tommy Hearns it could be lights out.

Good point. If the very best Donald Curry hits you on the button? Very few men shake that off.
Hidden Content Bring me the best and I will knock them out-Alexis Arguello
I'm not God, but I am something similar-Robert Duran

Shame you couldn't pit the early 80's Welterweights vs the late 80's Welterweights together.

    Marlon Starling vs Wilfredo Benitez
Donald Curry vs Sugar Ray Leonard
    Mark Breland vs Tommy Hearns
    Lloyd Honeyghan vs Pipino Cuevas

Is there a reason you wish to see Mr. Breland killed?

As a pro Mark always looked like he'd trained in a homeless shelter. He seemed so frail.

The other three would have been fun fights wouldn't they?

I only chose that because of there height, and because i've seen footage of them spar. I personally think Mark Breland was far too fragile and needed to bulk up a bit.
