Laws about drinking in Utah are ridiculous, be ready for that. You'll be heading down by Zion National Park, it's an absolutely gorgeous area. In Salt Lake City all of the addresses are based off of the main Mormon Temple, so you will see things like W 100 S as a designator of location in relation to the south east corner of the temple.

Don't listen to Youngblood standard tipping is 15%, 20% for good service.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Yeah, SLC has odd alcohol laws. They can have Happy Hour drink specials- as in mixed drinks- but not Happy Hour beer specials, and the state liquor stores are hard to find. Truly astounding number of tattoo places, and way more strip clubs than you might expect. But the taco wagons...my favorites are on Main and 800 South, and on West Temple and 800 South.
By the way, the grid system starts from the southeast corner of the Temple and is very easy to figure out. Once you get over being confused by addresses like "400 East 700 South."

I stopped giving tips after eating in this one Vietnamese Restaurant, we left a 10% tip because that was all the change we had in our pocket and this crazy waitress came running out of the restaurant shouting "What's wrong?, didn't you like the service? was there some wrong with the food? We were dumb-founded and we asked her "why?" she said "you only left this (6 dollar) tip."

That just pissed us off about tipping. It's called "gratuity" and for the last few years we stopped tipping (except when the service is exceptional) and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

What a great part of America the canyon lands are , we went to The Valley of Fire - Kolob Canyon - Grand Canyon - Hoover Dam - saw a show at Touacon - Mesquite were we hit the slots and tables did a wine tasting - then on to Las Vagas to the Venetian Hotel which is great , followed that with a meal at Bouchon , Thomas Kellers restaurant , which was superb , also we saw the show Jersey Boys.

Just an amazing trip all round, would recomend it to anyone.
