Pac bitched him. Plain and simple. If it's degrading to MAB, too bad so sad. I'll give him a pass on the first fight. He didn't know what hit him and he couldn't adjust. But he came into the second fight like he just hoped he wouldn't get hurt.Originally Posted by violent demise#1 groupie
He was scared of Pac. You know it, I know it and the American (and Mexican) people know it.
What, are you 10 yrs old??Its not degrading to Barrera,He does not strike me as one "Scared" of anything. It could be degrading to fans that know this is not a school yard. In this sport "American and Mexican " fans are Mostly one in the sameOriginally Posted by Terp

MAB come across a fighter that had his number Junior Jones, just like Norton/ALI Mosley/Forrest. Pacquiao beat him fair and square, now i don't think Barrera was in his prime against Pacquiao but he lost and no one is denying that. But your trying to rub it into people's face to purposely try and cause an argument. MAB is still one of the greatest Mexican Fighters of All Time losing to Pacquiao is nothing to be ashamed of.Originally Posted by Terp

MAB is legend.
The reason this thread had gone on for so many pages is because people pay way to much attention to a moron like TWERP. As for Barrera...he is one of the greats IMO. One of the smartest fighters of this or any era. He could box like a technician, he could slug/brawl it out, or he would do both. His fights with Morales and Hamed alone make him a legend.
Pound for Pound if they are the same size i would pick the Featherweight Quartet over the Original Big FOUR
Juan Manuel Marquez UD's Marvin Hagler
Erik Morales decisions Sugar Ray Leonard
Manny Pacquiao Kayoes Thomas Hearns
Marco Antonio Barrera outpoints Roberto Duran
4-0 must be too much. But i think they can really win at least 3-1.
Hagler was a god at his weight, Hearns went through the weights with ease because of his frame and power, Duran was a beast at lightweight probably the greatest, Leonard had a short prime but only SRR could beat him at his best. As great as your fab 4 are, they are no match for the Fab 4.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Barrera was a great. Okay some were able to beat him, but he was able to beat some of them and others too. He was a great fighter, I don't think there is much room to fall out on that. Morales is great. Pac is great. They are all pretty great in their own particular ways.
Amir Khan is not great. And he is bald. But could be great, unlikely though.
Thats a lie. Plain and simple. A bald-faced lie.Amir Khan is not great. And he is bald
Like it or not, the guy was strong, tough and had a great technique. He also accomplished in the ring what 95% of the other boxers will not even come close to achieve. I've never been a fan of the guy but I have to recognize all the achievements he collected over the years and anybody who says that he was shit obviously is either a twat or is overwhelmed by a shallow subjectivity.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
Legend!
7 world titles in a career spanning 4 seperate decades and 9 different weight classes. Not many can do that!
He was from an era when the best fought the best instead of cherry picking washed up weight drained leftovers. He took guys zeros and thats why he is one of the greatest ever.
Good enough to be in the top 5 greatest Mexican fighters of all time IMO.
