Ok, that was an ill informed comment based on no knowledge at all. The single biggest killer of ants, is other ants.

Ant societies are incredibly similar to human's one. They are always engaged in class wars with red ants fighting black ants. Amazon ants in particular are amazing, even engaging in seiges of other nests. They will literally surround a rival nest and starve them out.
