I think Bowe would have trouble with Morrison, Ruddock, and Mercer. Hell even Lewis had trouble with Mercer!

I agree with most here, Lewis by KO

Its one of the fights I am most disappointed never happend. I actually think Bowe was very good, but remember how much bigger he was than Holyfield and those fights were pretty even. If Holyfield and Bowe were the same size, Holyfiled would've whooped him imo. (Same goes for Holyfield against Lewis)
It's hard to pick a winner of a 1992 match between Lewis and Bowe, I think Bowe was much further along at that stage, but I also think his chin may have been checked by Lewis and he could've been KOed. I think Bowe was worried about Lewis as well.

Not to be pedantic or anything, but you could say that of practically any competitive heavyweight fight where there's been a good discrepancy in size. If Holyfield was as big as Lewis and Bowe yet still built and able to fight the way he was he would've whipped most grizzly bears ffs.
As for the fight I agree with most posters on this thread, they really peaked at different times and it may never have had the makings of a really great matchup given that. Lewis was definetly nowhere near the force he became in the early 90's, his balance wasn't great and he didn't pump his jab the same way. I think Bowe would've been able to get to him as a much better infighter at that point. By the time Lewis had really become a great HW Bowe was fat and getting beat up by Golota. To truly pit them at their peaks would've been great to see, I cant think of two guys that size with more athletecism between them.

[QUOTE=p4pking;1004813]How often have the 2 best heavyweights in the world at any one time been 30 pounds different in size? This was an exception imo. Take Holyfield's skills and give him an extra 30 pounds and he beats Bowe. A good big guy always beats a good little guy![]()

Not true. Marciano beat plenty of bigger guys than him.

[QUOTE=BIG H;1004829] Well I'm sure that has been the case before, but I'll give you that it is rare. My point though, was that if you take ANY good HW throughout history and "give him an extra 30 lbs", he'd be an ATG. It's next to impossible for a man the size of Bowe or Lewis to move like Holyfield or Tyson did etc. You post as though there is no advantage whatsoever to being a smaller HW. What you're arguing is really no different than my saying give Mayweather an extra 20 lbs and he'd whoop Carl Froch. Like no shit.
<<I said 'GOOD' >>
Joe Louis, JJ Walcott, Ezzard Charles, Don Cockell, Roland LaStaarza, Archie Moore........yeah, the word "good" usually comes to mind with them.
