At their peaks, Lewis knocks him out and it would be an easy fight. Two or three rounds.
Bowe should have fought him early on, right after he beat Holyfield. Bowe was at his peak then, and Lewis didn't reach his until Stewart taught him a little about how to fight. That little would've been enough to beat Bowe, who willfully forgot anything Futch tried to teach him.
Did Bowe really even have a prime or mainly 2 or 3 good showings?
Bowe didn't want none of that. I don't think it would be a easy blow out by any means but I can see Lewis stopping him, mentally as much physical.
As has already been said I think Bowe would have had a chance straight after his first fight with Holyfield but after that time Bowe got worse and Lewis got better and better.
Balls
Lennox Lewis was more sloppy in the early 90's, and probably would of been beaten by a prime Riddick Bowe who was at his peak then. It really depends of when they met a mid 90's fat lazy Riddick Bowe would of been taken apart, but the early 90's Riddick Bowe has a chance.
Bowe is 1 of those guys who, in his really real prime, would be extremely tough to beat even for a prime Lennox. He had a short window of about a year and a half where he was literally untouchable. Lewis may not have been able to take him during this time. Lewis would not have the stamina to go with such a big young strong man past about 6 rounds. I say if Bowe could match Lewis jab for jab and even harrass him wth a few good overhand rights during the first 3 or 4 rounds, it would exhaust Lewis and break his rhythm. Bowe would also play rough and rough up Lewis I think Lewis being the dirty fighter he was would also play rough and we could see some real fireworks here, points deducted, Lewis would surely lose points for headlocking and throwing the uppercut, and Bowe for hitting behind the head. I think Bowe takes him out really late like round 9 or 10 in a knockdown donnybrook sort of like Foreman/Lyle.
Got to take Lennox in this one big daddy will be in BIG trouble around the 10th round .
A well trained motivated Lewis is a dangerous fighter. In his prime Bowe was a good infighter. He always had lapses in concentration. Lewis did twice. He came back motivated each time and won in text book fashion never deviating from his game plan. Bowe fought as a smaller man would fight and took unnecessary punches. Bowe was lazy and his rise in weight between fights confirmed this. Lewis was methodical, quick and adapted well and yes so did Bowe when survival was necessary. Golata never should have beaten Bowe but he ended his career with all those low blows forgetting he was tall and had a large reach. Lewis toward the end of his career fared better than Bowe. Let's not forget that Lewis beat Bowe as an amateur and Bowe didn't seem like he was in a hurry to face Lewis years later as a pro, prime or no prime. I wonder who got the WBC belt out of the trash that day.
Lennox by KO in 5
Bowe was talented but flawed and if Evander rock him then Lewis can...OR we could just use the precedent of Lennox whipping Bowe's ass in the amateurs.
Bowe wouldn't beat most All-Time Greats....Bowe-Tyson prime for prime would be interesting as their styles are perfect for each other.
Lewis better legacy and career, Bowe prime was beating Holyfield and after the Holyfield defeat where he beat B rated fighters with unbeaten records. Lewis was almost unstoppable after he joined up with Manny Stewart. Shame their primes did not cross but got to go with Lewis. Bowe's best chance was when he was with Pepe and struggling against Bruno, Tucker and losing to McCall. Oliver did him a favour because Bowe would have beaten him as they were due to fight next.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I think Bowe would have trouble with Morrison, Ruddock, and Mercer. Hell even Lewis had trouble with Mercer!
I agree with most here, Lewis by KO
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
Its one of the fights I am most disappointed never happend. I actually think Bowe was very good, but remember how much bigger he was than Holyfield and those fights were pretty even. If Holyfield and Bowe were the same size, Holyfiled would've whooped him imo. (Same goes for Holyfield against Lewis)
It's hard to pick a winner of a 1992 match between Lewis and Bowe, I think Bowe was much further along at that stage, but I also think his chin may have been checked by Lewis and he could've been KOed. I think Bowe was worried about Lewis as well.
