Andrew Golota vs Hasim Rahman (Early-Mid 00's)

I gotta go with Rahman in a not so entertaining fight. He could slow down a match, was turdy and could pop and for as strong as Golota was he melted when in a major fight one way or another, save for the Ruiz go which was prob his most complete effort.

I felt his fight against Chris Byrd was his best performance, he won that damn fight and got absolutely ROBBED. Pissed me off.

Rahman was lazy.

Golota was a nut job and as panicky as a horse.

I agree about the Byrd fight too. Byrd appeared to fight like a bit of a girl in some ways but was really not even a cruiserweight so was all heart really and skill wise was better than most. Golota gave him a good fight though and was desperately unlucky not to get a win. I think this is the reason that he started to get that label as the guy who just kept getting title shots, because you knew he'd either had been robbed, self imploded or was likely to get KTFO

the golota that fought bowe beats any version of rahman imo.

i've not seen that fight yet, i'll have a look.

The thing with galota is i'd seen him have decisions go against him against two of the better fighters of his latter era (ruiz & byrd) that i actually think he won clearly so i tend to hold him in a higher regard to rahman, like he is a better calibre fighter.

Other than that, both men are so up and down it's really difficult to be 100% for/ against either man.

it was a great fight one of the better heavyweight fights of recent times, don't forget hasim rahman was clearly beating david tua in there 1st meeting, and did deserve the decision in the rematch. Plus most obviously he did ko lennox lewis, i think he has the power to stop andrew golota late on.

Yeah but Byrd also actually beat Tua easily and it was Galota gave Byrd a one of the roughest nights of his prime outside of a Klitschko.

The Byrd fight was good and easily could of taken nod yeh but hey, you can't beat seeing Ruiz get knocked on his ass and have legs like wet boot laces for a sec. Not to mention Norm Stone practically shitting himself while his head turned a bright red while getting tossed out
