I just dont see why Manny cant take the same random tests that Floyd would take and the other Mayweather opponents are willing to do??

As far as being significant in the sport. Both fighters need each other because they are intertwined its that simple. If one or the the other didn't exist the other one would be for sure 1000000% unquestionably be the best fighter in the world but since it's not the case they are connected and the whispers and jeers from both camps and fans will be there

I totally agree, but you cannot deny that Mayweather has contradicted himself completely in recent weeks. If he suddenly vanishes after this then accept that Floyd is in it just to make his money once a year.

why doesn't Mayweather just take the 50/50 split and actually make weight?

BOTH guys are being juvenile and idiotic, neither guy is holding up the fight more than the other, they BOTH are to blame

Ortiz is just a pretty mellow fellow. Sounding tough and being confident are different things. I think skill wise his chances are Mr. & Mrs. Slimandnone but when a guy is branded with a scarlet letter ala quitter they can go in opposite direction to get it off. Phoney tough guys stay in the canvas and collect checks...or blame a stubbed toe. Ortiz reclaimed some of himself last out and I think he goes out on his shield Vs Mayweather.

Ortiz has been terrible all through selling this fight. Not his fault.

He's clearly starstruck and too naive/young for this type of event. After the fight he'll be getting Floyd too sign his shorts and shit.

Boxing, like sport generally, is becoming same kind of mediahyped cheat like BB and boxers know pretty well how to make some hype. You just need big mouth like Carl Froch and David Haye have. If you are decent "family man" like Klitschkos or Andre Ward you will be soon critized with "lack of charisma" and "boring".

I realize that Ortiz turned in a very good performance against Berto and he was available for a fight against Floyd and Saturday he gets his chance. He should lay off the tough talk and be himself. It takes too much energy to be what other people want. His comeback was little erratic but here's hoping the path to Berto helps him with Floyd. He focused on the task and if he play's Floyd's game he loses long before the weigh in. Floyd's absences and tantalizing the public with talks of comebacks from long layoffs to those family feuds is nothing more than free publicity and keeping him on the lips of fans constantly evoking the question,"What if?" If an elephant had wings it could fly but guess what, the rest of us would need steel umbrellas. The rest of us should forget Maidana and Peterson because Saturday it's Floyd and Ortiz. May the better man win. Ortiz like some others made a mistake and redemption if it to be is tomorrow.
