In that situation a ref needs to be hands on and prepared for potential rash actions. Mayweather took advantage, but did so in an extremely cuntish fashion. There was no need for it and Cortez should have been diving in after the first punch, he should have at least allowed Ortiz time to recover and not burst straight into a count.

It was incredibly unfair and put a huge dampener on the fight.
