I actually have a desire to see Hughes get punched in the face. Any links![]()
That wing performance from JOnes. He's only 24, he'll be a heavyweight champ in a few years too I'm sure.
Right now I think he beats virtually everybody in that weight class. He's a massive, massive light heavy and if Couture could do it Jones definitely can.
I'll be rooting for Rashad to pull the upset however. Even he looks like he knows he has no chance, the face off at the end was hilarious, Rashad looked like he was being introduced to his executioner.
Watched it live at a friend's house.
Rampage just could not close the distance, those kicks and long arms of Jones really gave him fits.
Also, Jones was explosive, but unable to manhandle Rampage as he has done to so many other fighters.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
managed to get the full card last night and watched the main PPV showings.
Diaz was awesome imo, absolutely out-classed Gomi with his striking, was almost Silva esq with his striking, and the finishing move was just BJJ at it's best, unbelieveable !
Thought Hughes showed some good stand-up till he got caught and wanted to trade with Josh, not a man to trade with, he has some serious power ! Time to retire for Matt.
As for Jones, well he done what I predicted and used his kicks to maximum effect. This kid has every weapon in the arsenal. His high, mid and low kicks was so acurate and naughty, he kept the distance perfectly, and the attempted flying triangle choke at the end of one of the rounds was ridiculous
This kid has it all, and his striking compared to his 1st UFC fight has become so polished it's scary !!

I was really impressed with Hughes improved standup...until he got splattered. Probably time to hang em up but its nice to see one of the old dogs learn some new tricks. Diaz looked great but with both Diaz brothers it always comes down to their ability to defend the takedown. Rampage/Jones went pretty much like I thought it would. Rampage is starting to look like some of the older fighters. He keeps bringing the same gameplan and skills and has seemed to stop evolving. He is still a serious player at LHW but if he can't get more versatile his time as a top 5 LHW may be ending soon.
