I wish Pavlik would have stuck to his guns. If he really felt like he wasn't getting paid enough and was getting jerked around then I could respect that.

I think it's more about the fact that he acknowledges that he didn't do it right. It would have made sense to fight Cunningham, win, and then stand back and say he wanted more money to fight Bute. To back out of the Cunningham fight with only one week before the fight over money was a weak move.
