At least he is getting back on the right track by supporting Israel against the heathen Arabs.

What do you think of the ridiculous Palestinian bid for stateship btw Miles? I think it's a joke. How can Abbas strive to be President of a state that he only half controls He's not even allowed in Gaza which is controlled by Hamas, they can't even agree on a time zone over there, as Hamas and the PA both have their own time zone.

Plus how come the world isn't denouncing Abbas for blatently violating the 1993 Oslo accords by appealing directly to the UN to recognise a Palestinian state and breaking away from the negotiating table with Israel?

Plus he will ruin Palestine in the process. Hamas are oppsed to it so the internal divisions will deepen. Anerican aid, $500,000,000 per year will likely be stopped, as will all Israeli tax aid.

He is an idiot. Luckily the US will veto the plan, and hopefully Britain will be smart enough to too. However he is likely to get non member, observer status which will allow him to take endless grievances against Israel to the International courts. This will just increase the pressure in the middle East.

When the situation is already volatile following the Arab Spring and growing anti Semitism in Egypt, Turkey's mad ruler Erdogan wanting some sort of clash with Israel and Iran trying to get the atom bomb, Abbas's barmy idea is at least very well timed. The UN is full of anti semites so he will likely get the non member observer status he wants, but after that Palestine will be far worse off than before. Their economy, currently growing at 7% a year will go backwards again and he will ruin his people.

    Well done idot man.

I have a lot of thoughts about it, but am just about to head out for the weekend so cannot really add much here. But needless to say I take issue with a number of your observations and will try and respond to them when I get back.

No, I'm actually going to remain calm and not get too heavily into a Palestine debate, my thoughts are pretty obvious and I don't want to spend what remains of my weekend going over quite predictable ground. I shall merrily abstain and just enjoy my boxing for a few hours. Plus I'm knackered after a late one yesterday.

So on reflection, you agree taht Abass and the PA are in the wring this then eh? It's good that you are able to be more flexible on your views these days.

Your syntax suggests to me that you are sampling your bar.

Nah, I fully support a Palestinian state and I think it would be a great thing. But I will not elaborate as today is a beautiful fall day and I am going to walk around the lake. I just can't be bothered posting as I know it would involve elongated posting that I can't be bothered with. The winter months are far better for political pontificating. Here I just wanted to have a dig at lazarus Blair who I think is a nasty and dangerous individual.

Yes, but you must admit, if Palestinians are granted the freedom to roam where they will, there will be alot more people around with hair like Victor Ortizes.

People are incredibly fickle and quickly forget just how fucked the country was under the last Tory Government.

But apparently the 80s weren't full of violence, hooliganism, poverty and racial tension either.

Cameron keeps trying to pass off the current economy as being 'all labour's fault' but seems quite happy to ignore the fact that it is a Global economic crisis caused by many more factors than the Labour Government could ever personally affect and that the last recession this country faced was a purely national one and was caused by Tory policy and Tory policy alone.

I found this quite an interesting read:

UK Riots in Historical Perspective: ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions

I think Blair tried to do a lot for education and to support families... whether that worked is another debate all together but Cameron can take his 'Big Society' and stuff it up the Blue Blooded arses of the cunt chums of his that he is looking out for.
