It's probably a good business decision for Martinez. However, I believe Martinez's team are kidding themselves if they think they'll get a fight with anyone under the Top Rank banner. Chavez Jr. No. Cotto. No. Margarito. No. Pacquiao. No. But, let's say that HBO would pay Martinez $1 million for a fight against Macklin while Pirog fights on HBO against Geale or another of the top middleweights around the same time. It may make more sense for both parties to let the fight build up.
