B Hop was in the fight but I had him losing the first round. I think Dawson was fully motivated to win the fight. B Hop would have landed some meaningful right hands over the course of the fight but would eventually have lost the decision. Dawson was desperate to win this fight.

I don't think anyone has ever accused Hopkins of being an exciting fighter.

With him it's the promotion and a guy who respects his body enough to keep it in prime working shape competing at the highest level at 47 years old.

Dawson is a stinker himself, a tactical fighter with 0 killer instinct and frequently loses focus. It's no secret that I'm a huge Floyd fan but he gets accused of the old reverse reverse. But he has a 2nd gear and a killer instinct and is all business unlike Dawson.

The guy is from my state and 15min away from my town in Hartford CT, but I cant route for a guy that is as passive as him . Against Pascal he had ample Opportunity to get Pascal out of there but he screwed about took his foot off the gas and gaffed a chance to KO Pascal in Canada raising his stock.. Instead a headbutt and loses his title

He has 1000000% himself to blame and he aint getting anymore exciting

I never doubted Hops' craftyness. I mean the guy is a slick old fox, but yea, his fights from 2002- present were hardly thrillers. He's like a John Ruiz and Hatton rolled into one.. Punch, grab, punch, grab, punch, grab..

Toney is right. True throwbacks dont even get down like that.

Clinching is a part of the game, true, but when that becomes one of your main tactics, doing it excessively and unnecessarily, it becomes an eye sore not many purists want to see that.

Ive rarely seen him in a sustained boxing match for more than few seconds at a time and it's just real ugly to watch. He's not spontaneous enough to be exciting.
