i would like to point out that the hatton floyd fought was not a prime hatton, i say around the time he fought tzu he was good, after it seemed he let his ego get to him and may have partied a bit to much for the caliber fighter he is, i say the fight is a war, because were talking at 140, i say very very competitive match

The Ricky Hatton who showed up at the Tszyu fight would have given any 140 fighter a hard nights work. The MEN was an electric atomospehere that night and if you had put Hatton in the ring with any fighter that night he would have won. A truely special night in British boxing history IMO, even a 140 version of Manny Pacquio would have been tested that night. Would Manny have beaten Hatton that night? I don't know...but that was Hattons Prime in a nutshell, it was a truly memorable night for any boxing fan.

The only reason Hatton wasn't prime against Mayweather was cuz none of his uncles (Dave Paris and Mickey Vann) were involved in the fight. Without them Ricky Hatton is Matthew Hatton

He sure would. That Hatton had Dave Paris with him.

Hatton had Tszyu number that night, don't even try and deny him that.

Agreed, Pac vs Hatton was a total mismatch, and it would always be, man vs. boy.

I respectfully disagree, I thought Hatton vs.Tszyu was a horrible fight, but then i'm an American and was also a big fan of Kostya Tszyu.

Yeah he had his number coz Tszyu gave him his number after the fight, but Ricky definitely had Dave Parris's number before the fight

Hatton would spark him in the first 30 seconds of the very first round. I can see no other outcome.

This is the time Hatton was at his peak, against Kostya, after this he went down hill in self indulgence, personal problems and in camp problems.
Still Hatton would of been competitive for at least another couple of rounds, but his style played into Pac's hands perfectly, and it would only be a matter of time before the result was what actually happened. He was far more focused and competitive against Floyd, against Pac he was a lost soul.

Referee or no referee in the ring, there's only so much an outside influence can do and even if he was in Hattons favor it doesn't matter because Hatton put on his career best performance and nobody can take that away from. If Tszyu was as good as everybody said ( I know prime Tszyu would have beaten that Hatton on that night) prior to the fight then he should have handled Hatton pretty easily. However Hatton was highly motivated and looked unstoppable and it was enough to make a legend quit, the referee didn't stop it, Tszyu wanted no more and that speaks wonders for Hatton that night. So don't BS me about the ref, because that wasn't a factor in the stoppage. Hatton was a bull that night!
