Having said this I do appreciate that Mayweather is an absolute mentalist of the highest order and completely insufferable, therefore I don't listen to his interviews or anything, its easy. I've enjoyed watching him and his cracked out family in some of the 24/7 episodes though, he has really carried that show and made it a good format for promoting fights.

I think we've had this convo before, I don't expect that you'll get it, but in order for me to be a "fan" of someone, I usually like something about them as a person. In Mayweather's case, I just can't find anything i've ever liked him, plus i've never really enjoyed any of his fights.
Perhaps we have, lol don't remember. I just feel that since we are fans of boxing foremost, that a fighters ability in the ring should be the most pertanent aspect of their person. I'm not really a "fan" of any fighters, just really enjoy watching great defensive work. I would love to see Mayweather get his ass kicked for whatever that's worth, god knows he deserves it. I don't care to know much about any athlete outside of what they do in their sport, but I do understand taking a different stance on that and I certainly draw the line in some cases. I think Margarito should be in jail for instance, so would never pay to watch him fight even if I really wanted to. I also completely understand why some people don't enjoy watching Mayweather fight, but imo he is quite clearly the most talented fighter currently in the sport so to completely write him off just based on his being a jackass kind of puzzles me is all.
Yeah, but admit it, you have your favorites and usually root for one fighter or the other when they get in the ring.
Honestly, not overly so. If I do root for anyone its only because I like the way they fight, and if that changes during the course where the other guy starts doing things I like better I'll happily be in his corner on the night. If anything I'd root heavily for anyone who has success against Floyd, I'd love to see him beaten as I feel that would take a hell of a performance from just about anyone and be great for the sport. I will of course admit to being very partial to his style, but that's not rooting for him by any means. It's the people who outright dislike certain fighters for personal reasons that let their judgement cloud what they are actually watching imo.
