i thought pacquiao won by a round or 2
Marquez is 3-0 up in my eyes. Not the 1st bad decision in boxing and wont be the last.
Feel bad for Juan. No matter how bad he owns Manny they just never award him the win.
And this is what mayweather is scared of?
Marquez is a warrior. He really wanted this.
Pac and arum will never fight floyd.
That has always been the case
the one thing i gotta say tho, why the fuck would pacquiaos team think it was a good idea to try to lower their punch output?
pacquiao needed KDs in both of his previous fights to win/draw, so to think he could somehow come in and win with such a low output was stupid, they should have just tried to bumrush marquez early on
That was one of the worst robberies I have ever seen. I had Marquez winning by 8 rounds to 4, it was an easy fight to score.
It makes a total mockery of boxing and Manny is horrid. As if he really thinks he won the fight. He should have marched into the dressing room of Marquez and given him his belt.
Very, very dishonest from Manny, the judges and also from the HBO commentary at the end.
Marquez was coasting and had no reason to press and possibly make a fatal mistake in the last 2 rounds. He was winning the rounds effectively with his clean punching and countering.
I am well pissed off with this.
Exactly, it makes no sense at all. I knew something was amiss when I heard the first card and then on seeing the second one so close I knew the cooking was in. I had a glimmer of hope when I heard the last card which sounded realistic, but on hearing Pac called the winner? Well, that was an outright disgrace.
The crowd knew what they saw and the booing was very apt. Manny is so limited against a smart fighter who isn't afraid of him.
Marquez is a warrior and he won that fight hands down. Not even close, not by a long shot. So ridiculously easy in the favour of Marquez.
Alright back from da bar, Alvarez/Prescott was a great fight. I love any display of heart like that, Prescott still trying to shock opponents and get another Khan style win.
Don't know if you watched the yahoo undercards, but I was happy with my local boy Benavidez getting a solid showing.
As for the main event I agree that JMM should have pressed more in the 12th, but I had him winning 7-5 when all was said and done. I think Pac got the benefit of the doubt for landing one shot at the end of rounds that Marquez has controlled. I think Pac was rarely an effective aggressor and Marquez was the General with his countering. Taking Pac/Mayweather off the table was never an option though, unless JMM got a KO.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I'm sure some of the people who wanted Pac to win will play this out to be a close fight and understandable decision. I just want to know where the logical case is for Pac in this fight. The first 2 fights I always kept my mouth closed because they realistically could have went to either fighter so it gives the judges a lot of discretion. No robbery in those. But this fight JMM clearly outboxed Pac and had him whiffing and frustrated. Even Roach told Pac he was behind. Can even the biggest Pac boy agree/lie with Pac winning 8 rounds? Well, in the end we'll get our usual arguments and the people who saw Pac winning will keep their stance and while this time JMM really did get robbed and has a right to place one of those shirts on Pac, Roach, Arum, and the rest of the team. Tonight boxing proved it really is business before anything.
