This is a quote from an NHL forum where people were watching the fight and it pretty much sums up boxing for me these days:

"This isn't even a sport anymore really. A sport is an athletic competition where some entity wins based on merit. What this is, is athletic activity with a predetermined result."

Speaking of dead sports at least to the mainstream. Hockey is another one!
