It was a fight of two halves. Hatton dominated the first half and Collazo came on strong.
I will accept that it could have gone either way and a draw would have been fair enough.
This couldn't go either way. There were too many straightforward rounds.
Nobody is arguing Manny's case here unlike with Hatton/Collazo.
if mayweather fights paqman he will have to knock him out going off what happened to nite and not just out class him which he will no doubt do and the 3 judges should never be let near a boxing ring again its disgusting Hat people will do 4 a back hander
all i can say when it happens FLOYD YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO KNOK HIM OUT TOWIN
Pacman aggressorHe was in desperation mode after about the 7th round, even the commentator said it. I had Marquez wining 8-4. Pacman knows deep down he lost that fight. But the boxing association is not what it used to be, its all fixed, its all about money. Forget about what it does to these boxers that have trained all thier lives, to come into a ring only to be robbed of a fight. Marquez was asked if he would fight pacman again, and he said he wasn't sure. I dont blame him, I'm sure his moral is down after being robbed for the 2nd time. I think something stinks here.......I'm so angry !!!
pacquiao was the aggressor all throughout and had some connect on marquez but couldn't hit him cleanly and clearly missed on a lot of his haymakers. on the other hand, marquez was quite successful with his countering and connected more cleanly but wasn't quite active enough him being the challenger. i thought it could have been a draw and would have been satisfied with a close decision either way. even quite a number of filipinos thought pacquiao lost coz he really looked bad and couldn't execute and it was such a letdown of the people's expectations of him completely dominating in the fight. i don't think it was a robbery though coz if you go by the punchstats you can clearly see that it was another close fight that could have gone either way.
Stats, scorecards affirm Manny's win The Dean's Corner by Quinito Henson | Sports philstar.com
thisAlthough some fans doubted the accuracy of the judges’ scoring, the computer stats proved Marquez wasn’t robbed. Pacquiao had more punches landed, 176 to 138 and more punches thrown, 578 to 436. Clearly, Pacquiao used his trademark as a volume puncher to pile up points over the more precise but less busy Marquez.
Marquez should have won, but no robbery here folks. enough said
I was one of those with Marquez as a sentimental favorite but I was at work and did not get the results until two hours after the fight was over. The sports stations all said JMM was the clear winner and one judge as I understand it had his head in the clouds. This facilitates the argument that came from the writings of many on this web site that like in football, let's go to the video. This has been the year for the inept officials of boxing and we have a record high of an attack of idiocy.
It was a super close fight, I don't know how anyone could have it 116-112 for Pacquiao or Marquez, I didn't score rounds and just enjoyed the amazing level of skill and determination on board, but Pacquiao probably won as many rounds as Marquez, but Marquez certainly won some rounds much more decisively then any of Manny's rounds, and Marquez really was landing the better punches though Manny landed quite a bit more.
