I can't imagine smoking weed before a fight, i'm pretty sure I wouldn't feel much like fighting, that's for sure.
It depends on how frequently he smokes it. For a regular smoker, it can stay in the system for 30 - 45 days. But how would I know, I never touched the stuff.

He shoulda went with whiskey and cocaine. Might have fooled judges with ineffective aggression at least.

That surprises me, I've always thought of Tyson being the responsible type.

funny thing is that was like one of his final decent showings, seeing how he destroyed Golota in under 4, and then Golota went on to get screwed against the likes of Byrd and Ruiz haha

During the fight Casamayor said the following to his corner:

Casamayor - " I see three of them out there..."
Casamayors corner - "hit the one with the unicorn"

    This all makes sense now

So does that mean he doesn't get paid? And hell ya the top boxers have been known to smoke bud. You gotta be a damn fool to think these guys don't.

That's not true, it's just detectable for longer. Wiki says 30-90 days.

It was probably in the contract. Bradley was worried that the over 40 stipulation was not enough so he added a mandatory weed smoking clause (plus Casamayor was not allowed to do abdominal work during training) in order to remove any possibility of getting hit.

Yup, UNLESS you cut your hair

I don't see the big deal, though. Nick Diaz has said he smokes weed every single day and the guy runs triathalons and has more endurance than every single person he fights. It's like alcohol in the sense that they're both bad for you and yeah, if that's all you do, then you're going to be headed nowhere fast. You gotta have balance, just with anything else in life.

I wonder what kind of reefer Casa smokes, I would imagine he gets some of that really good stuff.

I don't smoke pot, but I don't see it as a big deal and it's ridiculous that a fighter would have his purse withheld because he smoked a fucking joint a month ago. It's certainly not going to enhance anybodies performance.

I agree, that it's ridiculous, but however fucked up it is, it's the rules, and you really don't know how long ago it was when he smoked the reefer, it could have been a few days before the fight. Stupid move by Casa, but I hope they don't withhold his purse.

All those commas gave me flashbacks of Trainer Monkey. Are you in the "buis"?

I don't disagree with what you say, I just think it's a stupid rule. Taking someone's money over it is just downright slimy.

Blame my high school sweetheart for all the commas, she has a masters degree in english, and told me I didn't use enough commas.

We got together a few years ago, after sending each other e-mails for about 6 months, we hadn't seen each other for 40+ years.
