I don't understand how it was a bad stoppage?? He was stunned, legs all over the place and was hit about 30-40 times against the roaps without answer!!
He wasn't badly hurt and Chavez missed all but a couple of punches. Manfredo was in the process of clinching when Cole waived it off. He might have gotten stopped, but he deserved the chance to continue.
It looked to me as though he clinched after the ref got in between?? Towards the end of the barrage he almost sunk through the ropes he looked done to me. He should have thrown one or two back if he wanted to to avoid being stopped.
Yeah, maybe I'm just being sentimental because I feel bad for the guy, but I thought it could have been let go for a bit longer. He likely would've been stopped anyways, but I just thought it was quick.

No, it's not just you. I agree that the stoppage was quick. Max Kellerman thought so too (though Lederman, Pappa, and Roy Jones all disagreed). Manfredo didn't do himself any favors by not hanging on to JCC Jr., but seriously, almost none of those shots on the ropes landed.
