When was the last Margarito win that we are certain was plaster free? Has he beat anyone on the top level where we are sure he wasn't using plaster?

The only one that is questionable in my mind is Paul Williams because Paul didn't seem to feel Tony's punches and just plain old outworked the guy.
I think if Cotto sticks and moves (which should be his M.O. as he's never lost doing it) he should win easy. The first half of the fight was easy pickings for Cotto, roll and counter, rip off combinations, and circle out. When Cotto started to stay on the inside and trade is when the damage started to take it's toll on him.
It's difficult stuff to ask a big puncher like Cotto to maybe save up a little of his power for the later rounds, but my line of thinking is quick counters & good movement will tire out Margarito, make his eye bad, and when he's ready to get picked off THEN you can land those big punches.
Well it was a guess...we can't be 100% certain he didn't use it then either.
The ONLY thing Margarito can do to win this fight (which I hope he doesn't) is apply pressure every second of every round and make Cotto move.....he basically has to use the Homer Simpson technique of getting hit in the head until his opponent wears out
Margarito won't stop coming and it's the non stop pressure that will eventually get to Cotto. Whether Margarito has pop or not is irrelevant, Cotto will slow down whilst Margarito won't. When someone is upping the rate to a hundred punches a round and you are fading...well, the higher output will shine through. You can't argue against a hundred punches a round with at least 25 of them scoring from all over the place. I see that happening. Cotto has only shown a high output one time and that was against Margarito and he tired. Margarito will force him to fight at his pace and that is by leading the way with a massive output. He isn't bothered about getting hit and I doubt the eye will deter him.
Like anyone, i don't know for sure about the use of plaster in the first fight, but when your opponent is a bigger guy that drains himself down to your division and is walking you down and throwing landing 237 power punches hes going to do some damage, plaster or no plaster. It's kind of hard to believe a guy has used plaster his whole career to gain a rep as a bruiser and just hasn't been caught in 43 fights. I agree with the theory that if Cheato is 100%, this will unfold similarly to how the first fight happened.
Cotto's feet were slow to get him out of the way with lateral movement and his defense was mediocre at best. When he puts on the muffs... his forearms funnel shots right up to his chin.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Im leaning more and more towards Margarito as the fight nears.. He's just too much of a beast for Cotto...
Cotto is constantly crying about the plasters. To me, that shows insecurity..
Tijuana Tornado is back!! Say goodnight to the bad guy..
Cotto will win on points. Margs punches wont be as powerful now and even though the weight has slowed Cotto down, Marg is the more beaten up fighter and he will plod forward onto punches getting outboxed. He wont quit but he will mark up and take abit of a beating before Cotto goes on the run late on.
