Cotto will win on points. Margs punches wont be as powerful now and even though the weight has slowed Cotto down, Marg is the more beaten up fighter and he will plod forward onto punches getting outboxed. He wont quit but he will mark up and take abit of a beating before Cotto goes on the run late on.

Well it was a guess...we can't be 100% certain he didn't use it then either.

The ONLY thing Margarito can do to win this fight (which I hope he doesn't) is apply pressure every second of every round and make Cotto move.....he basically has to use the Homer Simpson technique of getting hit in the head until his opponent wears out

Margarito won't stop coming and it's the non stop pressure that will eventually get to Cotto. Whether Margarito has pop or not is irrelevant, Cotto will slow down whilst Margarito won't. When someone is upping the rate to a hundred punches a round and you are fading...well, the higher output will shine through. You can't argue against a hundred punches a round with at least 25 of them scoring from all over the place. I see that happening. Cotto has only shown a high output one time and that was against Margarito and he tired. Margarito will force him to fight at his pace and that is by leading the way with a massive output. He isn't bothered about getting hit and I doubt the eye will deter him.

Like anyone, i don't know for sure about the use of plaster in the first fight, but when your opponent is a bigger guy that drains himself down to your division and is walking you down and throwing landing 237 power punches hes going to do some damage, plaster or no plaster. It's kind of hard to believe a guy has used plaster his whole career to gain a rep as a bruiser and just hasn't been caught in 43 fights. I agree with the theory that if Cheato is 100%, this will unfold similarly to how the first fight happened.

Cotto's feet were slow to get him out of the way with lateral movement and his defense was mediocre at best. When he puts on the muffs... his forearms funnel shots right up to his chin.

Im leaning more and more towards Margarito as the fight nears.. He's just too much of a beast for Cotto...

Cotto is constantly crying about the plasters. To me, that shows insecurity..

It's really bizarre to me how most appear to be almost pretending that all of Margarito's fights since the last Cotto fight didn't happen. He has looked absolutely horrible in all three of them. Why does anyone think this fight unfolds in the same way as the last one when we're now dealing with what appears to be a totally shot Margarito? I'm not convinced the guy has anything left at all. Could be wrong (styles make fights and all that), but that's where I'm leaning.

Saw Margarito's eye and it looks messed up as if he is blind.

Their motives are totally different. Cotto never wanted this fight until Bob convinced and convinced him with more money. He used to be a fighter but today he's more of business minded. He's more civilized .. The revenge angle was more thrown in there for publicity cuz revenge wasn't on Cotto's mind until that purse got bigger.. Cotto is fighting for $ + HOPE of gettin some payback while Margarito is coming for blood and is willing to win under any condition. Margo is fighting for redemption and I believe he's hungrier as well.

I watched the Mayorga fight again and Cotto at 154 was noticeably slower and his punches didnt have as much affect. He doesn't even move that well anymore and dude just not react too well from clean punches..

153 favors Margarito cuz he's no longer starving himself. Cotto is at a disadvantage and dude had hit his ceiling.

    Margarito TKO9

I don't buy the "Margarito is hungrier" reasoning, but I agree on the weight being to Margarito's advantage. Cotto is genuinely angry at someone he feels played around with his health and could've potentially done him irreparable harm. Which is why he's been acting out of character by engaging in trash-talking with Margarito.

It could go either way, but I'm sticking with Cotto by 7-8 round TKO.

    Margarito TKO.

He's simply a bad matchup for Cotto.

In their recent fights , Margarita looked much tougher so unless he's bothered by his eye injury, I see the result pretty much the same as their first fight. Only chance for Cotto is to use hit-n-run tactic, while at the same time, targetting Marg's eye all the way.
