Finito - one thing I don't like about Floyd is that he is always bringing up race. He consistently calls Emmanuel Stewart an Uncle Tom. He called Pacquiao a yellow something and referred to him as Chinese. He only ever praises african american fighters. It's hard for me to like a guy that is as racial as he is. It wouldn't matter if he were caucasian american, philipino american or armenian american. It's just not me. Even if we assume what you're suggesting is correct that he does this all for publicity, then he is irresponsible and sending the wrong message to the public, and I can't like him for doing that.

With all that said, don't get me wrong, he's a phenomenal boxer. One of the best of this era. Maybe the best of this era.

lol He did call Pac Poochio the dog eater and said something along the lines of " ill make that poochio come make me a sushi roll " ... It was rubbish but funny..

Hey everyone I've been following this site for around a year or 2 and I finally decided to make an account. Ive made a few post but i thought i should introduce myself/ give my views on the recent boxing world.

Welcome and that's a cool list of fighters you got there..
But I dont understand how one could judge Floyd's character unless they know him personally..

Boxers are kind of like actors in a sense that they have to play a part. It sells tickets and it's just good for business. Bad publicity, good publicity, any kind of publicity is good for actors and athletes.. It gets people to talk about them and that's why Floyd is the PPV cash king of today..

You don't need to know someone personally to realize that they're an asshole. Floyd is one even if he doesn't have a fight, therefore there is no tickets to sell.

When I started I wish I had started one of these threads.

Neutral, even nice guys can have an asshole side.. Floyd may be an ass but that doesn't define his character. If you dont know the guy personally, u can't judge him.. If Floyd didnt play his villain role so well, people wouldnt be paying as much to watch him lose..

Yea man.. Burning money in today's economy was a slap in people's face.. asshole move..

But we dont really know about his broad issue and all...

I think alot of it has to do with his upbrining. Daddy wasn't home and grandma had to raise him so i bet Granny pretty much let him have his way.. U know how that is..

I mean look at his ex crack addict uncle and father.. Lookin at them, it would hard to imagine Floyd being any different.

That's true.. hoya embraced the good guy role but here's the thing bruh...

Delahoya didnt have to play a badguy because his style, ethnic background and movie star looks brought in the crowd regardles..

Floyd on the other hand, dudes style is boring to most people so he had to go for another angle to sell tickets... The Villain.. If Floyd had a boring personality like Cotto, he wouldn't be the cash cow he is today..
