I know i wasnt taking the punches so what do i know but im not so sure, there was nothing that fight for me to prove there was any difference in Margarito's punch

cotto had different tactics and didnt get hit anywhere near as much, plus margarito was injured and looked much slower than he did first time around

i'd say if anything there was more to prove he wasnt wearing pads first time around looking at that fight because i think cotto was starting to get busted up and i think the last 3 rounds would have been interesting

im glad cotto won mind

and yes id like to hear someone directly ask him what he thinks about the loaded gloves now, and hopefully he would give an honest response

That was what I have been saying all along.

Why would Margarito use loaded gloves on an ageing boxer who was beaten by the younger boxer who he had beaten fair and square while still undefeated?

I don't think there was much to suggest any difference, but I don't think Margarito would have beaten Cotto fair and square first time out and then felt the need to use loaded wraps to fight an ageing Mosely. That wouldn't be the 1st fight you picked to do that.

Cotto outboxed Mosley, Margarito couldn't outbox my dog... I'm not saying it makes sense per say but stylistically Margo needed the edge a lot more against Mosley imo. That was a guy who was just as tough as him, hit way harder, and still had an absolutely ridiculous advantage in handspeed not to mention overall athletecism and boxing ability.

I kind of half agree with this.. It's unlikely that Mosley would be the first opponent Margarito picked to use the plaster, BUT at the same time Shane was always going to be a much tougher matchup for him than Cotto when you think back on it. Mosley in good form would have never lost to anything that even resembles Margarito, you didn't beat Sugar Shane by being a tough guy.

I noticed a difference. I remember watching the first fight and telling my brother in round 4 that Cotto's boxing was winning the fight but that Tony was clearly landing hard shots. Obviously he is a big puncher and still had some moments in the rematch but his punches didn't seem to have smack that they did the first time around. At least to me.

But it isn't like Margarito is a huge underdog going into that fight with Mosley for him to risk getting caught cheating. Just looking at the damage that he inflicted to Cotto, if he had beaten Cotto fairly, then he has an excellent chance of beating Mosley fairly. Why cheat?

Since Margarito was caught cheating, to some people he lose the privilege of the doubt that maybe that is the first time that he tried to cheat.

you assumed Shane had a good deal in the tank at that time. Boxing writers and insiders didn't believe that to be the case.

no i agree, why straight after winning a fight you were odds on too lose cheat in a fight you are odds n to win

Thing is at the time of the mosley fight margarito was the hottest thing in boxing, margarito v mosley was probably one of the top 2 or 3 anticipated fights in the world, margarito was on the verge of superstardom, the steaks were higher than ever before

From that point of view i can accept that they made a decision to cheat for the first time at that time
