and just because I am broke, I missed out on seeing Jameel McCline fight some nobody and young up and coming prospect Joe Hanks this past Saturday.....I could kick myself for missing that!
I didn't even think of that. He fought in your neck of the woods recently huh ?

You should add Jameel on facebook, he's on my friends list. Nice guy and he posts often, just like Monte Barrett does.

Saw Gerry Penalosa once in the Elorde boxing gym back here in Manila. Classy guy. Unfortunately, didn't have my camera/cellphone with me so wasn't able to take pics and in the heat of the moment even forgot to ask for an autograph. I know.. how terribly stupid of me. I don't know, but for some reason I still think if manny pac and gerry penalosa were both there and I just had to pick one guy to meet it would have been Gerry. Weird.

Also met the grandsons of Gabriel "flash" Elorde (pro boxers but certainly nowhere near their gramp's level) several times on the restaurant I worked at which was beside the gym they own.

He did always seem like an ok guy, I wonder if he sparred at my gym while he was down here. 1 of the regulars at the gym Jonathan Haggler who just lost to Maruiz Wach was a sparring partner for Wladimir Klitschko in preparation for the Thompson and Chagaev fights. A guy I used to spar quite frequently with (Paul Jeanette) just lost a decision to BJ Flores. So by 2 degrees of separation I've fought some pretty decent guys

Met Chris Eubank on thr train from Victoria to wherever i was going, he was friendly enough but was with a mystery blonde so dont think he wanted to chat too much. He walked through my booth to get to his i was reading boxing monthly at the time it was my sis who said 'look who it is'

Duke Mckenzies kids went to school where my mum was a dinner lady so i got his autograph one day but i have met him at a couple of shows too.

I have met Wayne Alexander a few times. First time was at the Naz v Calvo show show, then I went to whsmith on my dinner break to get boxing news - couldnt find it so tapped the guy reading his and said 'where did ya find that' - it wa Alexander again lol. He's on my facebook and I have spoke to him a couple of times and sent him links to old interviews of his and I had a chat with him at the Burns v Katsidis show. (not stalking him honest lol)

    Had a chat with
    Lloyd Honeyghan
    Micheal Brodie
    Colin Dunne
    Graham Earl
    Antony Crolla
    Joe Gallagher (trainer)
    Spencer Fearon
Dave Charnley (1961 Ring fight of the year)
    Paul Smith
    Billy Joe Saunders
    Kevin Mitchell
    Ashley Theopane
    Takaloo
Bumped in to Naz after Groves vs Degale and had a chat got autograph and photos
    Michael Watson
Seen Enzo Maccrinelli but didnt get to speak
Walked passed Vince Phillips at a witter show years ago but my mate said 'why would he be here' so i didnt go speak to him saw the show on tv the next day and Phillips was getting interviewed ringside.
    Brendan Ingle (trainer)
    Jason Booth
    Mickey Vann (ref)
Richard Williams (beat twice by Sergio Martinez)
Sat next to Carl Froch at York Hall a few years ago
    Mark Krence
    Julius Francis
    Roman Greenberg
    Jane Couch

Wow didn't realise how many i had met till i just thought about, pretty happy with that

edit: Shook Groves hand after Smith fight and Haye was there too. Also saw dereck chisora but he werent interested in giving out autographs pretty ignorant.

By no degrees of seperation you have sparred a couple of pro fighters and that is admirable.

    But, your still a Klithead.

My list pales in comparison to all of you alls, can't even call it a list since its got two people on it.lol

First one I ever met was marijan benes, not a big name but held ebu title a few times in late 70s and 80s and did fight for the wba title as well. Owned a cafe in town I grew up in and dad would take me there often when I was little.

Second is ali, got to meet him twice. Once he came to my middle school when I had just moved here, and the second time I was a waiter in a restraunt that he came in, saddly wasn't my table. Neither time did I ask for an autograph or anything , seemed very frail.

Was sat next to James Degale at the Tyson Fury - John Mcdermott rematch. A very nice, down to Earth guy. Nothing like he comes accross sometimes. No ego or attitute he was happy to chat boxing with us and sign some autographs. Also spoke briefly to Johnny Nelson and Jim Watt the same evening. Also nice guys, happy to talk to us fans.
