Not much to look at, but at less than $750 a month for a mortgage it's manageable

Killer everywhere I went in AZ people had rocks instead of grass. Anyway my house pretty much looks like this.

You were closer to Tucson right? There are some cities that make having grass in the front illegal (because of the obvious long term drought conditions) Tucson and Apache Junction are definitely in that category.
