Khan is just another Prince Naseem Hamed; carefully managed to make him look a whole lot better than he actually is.
Just like Naseem, all the big names on his record were past it when he fought them or perfectly suited to his style and the moment he went in against a truly top class fighter with a real desire to win he was found out.
Sure, the ref on Saturday was biased, but Khan got it all wrong and Peterson fought like a man who really wanted those belts. All too often you see title challengers try and play it too safe, but Peterson gave it absolutely everything he had and it was great to see. He deserved his win.
Khan is not a great fighter, but he has been in some great fights and that will always make him worth watching. I'd love to see a rematch between these two and I wouldn't like to predict which way it would go at all.
Any talk of Khan beating Pacman or Mayweather is ridiculous. Both of them would beat him, but they are fights that need to happen.
I see your point. It is just the way it is. The ref dissliked all the pushing and did not care about peterson putting his head in. If you lean and push into someone you have to expect to be pushed off. I enjoyed the fight but Khan was too negative. I had the score pretty much as the judges had it. I dont think any points should have been taken and I dont think the first knock down should have been counted. Which would have made the fight a draw.
I think the next time they fight it should be in vegas and have a different ref. So they can just get on with the fight and we dont get any bullsh#t.
Good fight needs to happen again. Will be interesting to see how each fighters game plan changes.
