I guess that just goes to show that apparently most fans don't know shit about boxing - Pac vs JMM III was a close fight, but there's no fucking way it was a robbery.

No, it wasn't a robbery. Having said that, I watched that fight at a friends house with a half dozen guys who don't follow boxing whatsoever and all but one person legitimately felt Marquez had gotten screwed after the decision was announced, more or less. Now that's not to say it was the case, just that it really did appear(to myself included) that Marquez won that fight by a good margin, and it was certainly as high profile as any bout that had gone down for a while. A few other fights were clearly worse decisions, but they didn't mean jack squat for the sport and only true boxing nerds would've seen them. Of course Helenius-Chisora was techinically a worse decision on the cards; but can it in fact be a bigger robbery than an actual prize fight that went the wrong way? I say no.

I can see how many thought Marquez won, (not me) but what I don't get is the robbery/screwed part.

Anyway, this horse has already been beat to death.

And still. No one here can give a clear explaination why it was a robbery.

PSL, I know what you're saying, but it's not going to change anyone's mind, if some fans want to believe there was a robbery, let them think what they want, who cares?

BTW, in the poll posted in the OP, Pacquiao-Marquez III was only seen as the “Robbery of the Year” by 43 percent of the fans who voted, so it's not like it was unanimous.

Paul Williams-Erislandy Lara got 32.1 percent, that would have been my pick after the screwing Dereck Chisora got in his fight with Robert Helenius which only got 9.8 percent of the votes.

This Ring mag poll is fucking worthless when you figure that Chisora and Lara really took it up the ass, and Marquez only lost a close competitive fight.

i think JMM supporters are contnuing to stay blind and won't accept the fact that it was a close fight.

Most JMM fans mindset: "if we don't cry out that there was a robbery, then we're automatically accepting Pac won the fight".

Lmfao! Look. it was a close fight and could have gone other way. But to say a robbery occured.. is just pure retarded.

Marx talking about " most people dont know boxing " is the funniest thing ive heard this week haha.

This is the same dude who said pac was going to knock marquez out early so of course this idiot will try to damage control by saying it wasnt a robbery..

marx's boxing knowledge is extremely limited..

C'mon.................. deep down inside, you KNOW it wasn't a robbery. Put on your objective hat on this one. You'll see what I mean. It was a close fight. End of.

Oh my, Finito-ElDumbass is talking shit about me because he thinks I have him on ignore, how cowardly.
You strike me as a 25 year old, semi-retarded "kid", still living at home off your mother's welfare checks.
Remember ass-wipe, it's not my fault that your mother doesn't know who your father is, quit trying to get attention from me. Now back on ignore.

I don't see the point in arguing about it, if most fans want to believe this was a robbery, whatever floats their boat, I just don't happen to agree.

There's an objective way to resolve this. Post a poll to see who everyone thinks won. If it's 90-10 Marquez, it was a robbery. If not, it wasn't.

Eh, why do that? If some fans want to think it's a robbery who cares?
