Margaritos team want a trilogy in Mexico city. They said Cotto ran for the whole fight because he felt the power and if margarito had another round or two he would have knocked out Cotto. Why cant they accept they got outclassed?

Then i wonder how did Margarito get hit so often by someone running the whole fight? How did his eye close up so badly that the doctor stopped the fight? How do Margarito's people get up in the morning? No 3rd fight is necessary, i would rather see Cotto take on Pacman again than see him fight the done and dusted Margarito.

That's what I was thinking, it was a completely one sided performance and margarito did nothing to phase Cotto. Cotto stayed mainly on the outside and boxed so well Margarito had no way of doing anything. Cotto landed powerful shots and didn't get hit. Why does a fighter have to stand toe on toe with someone to prove who's better? It was a display of skill and look what happened to margarito, got destroyed. Even if a rematch did ever happen, even in Mexico city what would happen? Cotto would destroy him again because Margarito is done, that eye has gone past the point of no return. Margarito doesnt look strong, he would get wiped out in a rematch, probably quicker than the first rematch.

i just thought i needed to resurect a cotto margarito II thread so i chose this one coz its the first i came across

after the fight i sided with margarito in the fact that i felt he was starting to catch up with cotto and had the fight continued i felt it could have got a bit sticky for miguel

ive watched it again over christmas tho, this time at a reasonable time and without any beer and i have changed my mind

it wasnt getting any better for margarito and it didnt look like it was going to

the last round was probably one of cottos best and in the whole fight margarito had 2 half decent rounds at best

yes the eye still played a part but cotto was dominant
