Oh dear. This in an unfortunate choice of opponent. I have nothing against Guerrero, who I happen to think is a very good fighter, but he hasn't made a name for himself yet and most certainly is not WW.
Shame on Mayweather if this turns out to be who he is fighting. He deserves his criticism a lot of the time and he will no doubt get a lot more for this.
my point exactly, I already said it's more of a knock on Mayweather rather than on Guerrero, Robert has better fights for him at 135 and 140 rather than face a bigger and technically better Mayweather 2 divisions north, he should just fight Rios at 140 but leave it to VD to try and make his dude the victim
Like I said before I rather see Mayweather fight either Pacquiao or Martinez first. But obviously that ain't happening. It's easy to throw out a bunch of names and say fight them. But that just shows ones true ignorance on how the sport works. Some of the names I read mentioned are just dumb and make no sense.
Victor Ortiz & Andre Berto: Ortiz-Berto fight in February. There first fight was a brutal war. Good chance the rematch will be the same. There is no way either fighter would be ready to fight in May. To ask Mayweather (who already is way to inactive) to wait on them is unrealistic. Super Star fighters don't wait on opponents.
Miguel Cotto and Tim Bradley: Look at the trouble Mayweather has had dealing with Top Rank regarding a Pacquiao fight. No way he's gonna bother going through all that for Cotto or Bradley?
Marcus Maidana: People already crying about Guerrero. Madinana would be an even bigger mismatch than a Guerrero fight would be. Jesus Christ the man was bothered by Erik Morales hand speed. Yet some think he'll do better Guerrero?
Lamont Peterson & Erislandy Lara: I saw these names mentioned today. So now Floyd needs to go knocking on doors to get a fight? Guerrero has shown he wants the fight. When the fuck has Peterson or Lara ever, even mentioned they want to face Mayweather? They shown no interest what's so ever. And neither one is even close to big enough for Mayweather to chase.
Told you this aint happening. Floyd aint going out like a bitch

Ive been reading Guerrero is out of the picture and canelo is looking the more likely if a pacquiao showdown doesnt happen. Which IMO wont happen, not in may anyway. I dont want to see canelo fight mayweather right now, hes too young to be taking on mayweather. It's a silly move in his career IMO, he should be fighting Kirkland or Cotto at 154.
Ok I'm biased..my mouth is zipped..
No way you are smokin some shit bro...Kirkland got ktfo by Ishida..come on now FFS. Ortiz drew against the now 140lb champion so in hindsight now..it wasnt bad at all. Plus most thought he won anyway.
Kirkland beats Angulo who shot his load early in the first round where as Ortiz beats the best welterweight apart from MM and Pac.
Totally different kettle of fish..Canelo for me is a tougher fight than Kirkland all day long. BUT he doesnt even wanna fight Canelo so really this is all pointless chat. (although its looking like that will be his only choice or Cotto)
Angulo just beat the guy who was thought of as the next big thing at 154 in Angulo, Ortiz got demolished against Maidana who went on to get his ass torn up by a small blown up old Erik Morales, don't try and play it in favor of Floyd, facts are facts
and how the hell is Canelo tougher when Canelo struggled against a smaller limited Alfonso Gomez...
Again you're seeing things through rose tinted glasses for Kirkland..I guess we're both guilty of it BUT
Kirkland beat Angulo who was "supposed to be" the next big thing?? lol that means nothing. Supposed isn't the same as "IS"
Ortiz lost to Maidana..who then went on to give Amir Khan fits..it works both ways. Again, I will say he beat the 3rd best welter in the world convincingly..not the "supposedly" or maybe best welter...THE best welter bar MM and Pac.
So, I'm sorry I don't get where you're coming from but I don't. Canelo didn't struggle with Gomez he just looked bored as shit in there until he decided it was time for Alfonso to leave. He seems a fighter who fights down to his opponents level or up.
