Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Man, not every single fight can revolve around the elite facing the elite or the Manny-Floyd sweepstakes. There is a reason Alvarado was featured on the PPV undercard in what was a pretty damn good fight. This is about a great style match for Marquez while wearing the new weight vs a young undefeated hard charger who will go out on his shield. I honestly have no prob with it.

Yeah I dont see the problem in this fight, hes an undeafeated fighter whos got great heart. I thought his fight against Prescott was outstanding. I think he will give Marquez a good fight and I think if Marquez can beat him its a decent name on his record. I think Alvarado deserves to fight a top rated fighter, I think it will be a good fight.

Alvarado is undefeated and coming off a KO win over Breidis Prescott. That's a better matchup than most of Marquez recent fights imo, Likar Ramos, Diaz 1 and 2, Katsidis, Casamayor. Some big names there but most werent near their best and none are relevent to boxing any more.
Alvaredo is a right now fighter so it's a decent fight.

I just came across this artical where the writer accuses Marquez of taking steroids! "Marquez, who has a history of using performance enhancing drugs"
As far as I know hes never taken or been found taking anything! Wankers! marquez is whats good about the sport!

I would MUCH prefer to see him face Soto, Bradley, Matthysse, Peterson, Khan, Rios, Guerrero etc., but if this is a fight in Mexico and his plan is to face one of those guys in his following fight, then I reluctantly can see the point although I don't support it. Imagine if Pacquiao or Floyd faced Alvarado in their next fight? Even Pacquiao's back-up options are better than Alvarado.
