I think roy did a great job. He is one of my top 2 favorite boxers (besides Iron Mike) but even I know that he probably wouldnt survive with any of the the top 3 guys in the weight classes above and below 175. He is so fustrating to watch also. He should know his reflexes arnt as good as they used to be so change ur damn boxing style. fight with both hands up and maybe he'll have a chance with the top guys. Other great fighters are able to adapt and change the way they fight, why cant he?
Mike
Actually, I noticed that he worked a lot more on smothering and blocking shots than he normally does, he slowed his game down, because he wanted to.
I don't think his legs and movement are anywhere near as fast, but he blocked and parried a lot more than usual, usually he'd cover his body slip, lean and step out of trouble.
I like the idea of him going up to cruiser, adds yet another weight class to his claim and to be honest the division is wide open for him if he truely can't make 175 anymore.
What ever makes him retire happy with his Legacy... I just wish he'd retired after Ruiz... no one would even care about tarver by now... Roy is a fighter, he didn't need to fight Tarver.
I don't think Roy is going up to Cruiser. He said he won't fight Virgil Hill again saying "Look how big Virgil is!!!" I think he's staying at 175
haha, yeah I musta forgot...
Funny when he said it, was he shocked/amused (he sounded shocked and amused which ever way) because he carrys a bit fat/bulk or is he just fucking huge if you catch my drift?

Glad you stopped hatin on him for a little while. Roy lost his chance to avenge the Tarver loss by not throwin freakin punches in their third fight. Johnson however, is still out there. If Roy is to continue at 175 and not retire, then I feel he should have another tune up fight, at least one, b4 tackling Johnson. Because Glen will bring the pressure and sustain it for much longer than Badi Ajamu did.Originally Posted by TheDukeof74
