It's an intriguing fight despite the mixed resumes. Chavez Jr. has worked hard and has improved at the Wild Card. Rubio is a good gate keeper. I don't think Roach would have taken this fight if he didn't think Jr. had enough to get past Rubio. I say Jr's body punching and youth carry him through but it won't be easy. I don't think anyone takes Jr's belt very seriously.

I do think Chavez has hit a physical maturity and has really grown into weight, fights tall and dedicates to body well now. He's had a fair share of padding but is smelling less like talc powder and has improved. But I'm picking Rubio. He takes flack from shelling up vs Pavlik and frankly deserves it but I think that also resulted in recent momentum. He has good pop, solid experience and is a pretty capable mover. This is actually a solid scrap but lean towards Rubio finding the holes in Chavez jr defense and outboxing him.....but he better win with his own judges

    Good breakdown.

Hope you're right. I don't care for Chavez Jr.

Chavez has escaped with wins where I thought he lost multiple times in the past, but it appeared in his last fight that he had improved. He's also a big middleweight. Rubio is a real test. I like Rubio in this fight, but I'm not confident enough right now to put money on it. I've yet to see a close decision go against Chavez Jr.

This will be a big test for Julio Jr, Rubio is a tough customer with decent power. I figure this fight will show how good or improved Chavez Jr. is, or show how limited he is. It's hard to imagine Rubio winning a 'decision', he'll have to get a couple KD's to accomplish that or stop Jr. to get a "W".

I'm looking forward to the fight, unless it's a fucking PPV.
