    Default Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio

How do you all see this one playing out ?

I thought Manfredo could upset Chavez, boy was I wrong.

So I'm hesitant to pick against him again despite Rubio's recent success.

I still remember how Rubio performed against Kelly Pavlik a few years back.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Thumbs down Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Rubio

Well its at least a good fight on paper, which Chavez is really overdue for. I think Jr. is actually a pretty good fighter. For all the flack he got I expected him to be pretty soft, but he can actually punch an has a good chin and has some skills. Rubio is a bit of a wildcard and all but is quite dangerous and coming off his showing against Lemiuex exactly the kind of fight Chavez needs if he wants to be taken seriously. I don't expect Rubio to win, but he should at least be able to pressure Jr. and stick around, could make it interesting down the stretch. My pick I guess would be a fairly wide UD or late Chavez stoppage.

Looking at Chavez, there's a song it go's you don't impress me much the middle weight's at this
moment in time is a weak division. The stand out fighter is Sergio, and he is not a true middle
weight. This fight is between a poor Champion and a poor contender.!

It's an intriguing fight despite the mixed resumes. Chavez Jr. has worked hard and has improved at the Wild Card. Rubio is a good gate keeper. I don't think Roach would have taken this fight if he didn't think Jr. had enough to get past Rubio. I say Jr's body punching and youth carry him through but it won't be easy. I don't think anyone takes Jr's belt very seriously.

Don't get me wrong I am not belittling, both fighter's it's just the level they are at to me this is
a mid level fight. Could be a good fight to watch!.

I do think Chavez has hit a physical maturity and has really grown into weight, fights tall and dedicates to body well now. He's had a fair share of padding but is smelling less like talc powder and has improved. But I'm picking Rubio. He takes flack from shelling up vs Pavlik and frankly deserves it but I think that also resulted in recent momentum. He has good pop, solid experience and is a pretty capable mover. This is actually a solid scrap but lean towards Rubio finding the holes in Chavez jr defense and outboxing him.....but he better win with his own judges
