Default Every great fighter has a gift

Besides the ability to box/fight, almost all of the greats seem to get a gift along the way. Whether it was someone not being able to finish them or a favorable set of cards. I'm thinking of a lot, but I'll just put a few to see if you guys think of the same. As always, apologies to the person who probably did this before me and for my damn lazy hide for not looking! You could argue that some deserve it, and some don't.

    May weather v Castillo I
    Mosley v ODLH II
    Tyson v Ruddock I
Jones v Tarver I (looked gift horse directly in mouth)

In terms of the comfortable UD scores, Mayweather got a gift over Castillo. I dont mind if you had him winning but the scores were lame. I thought it was a Draw.

Definitely agree on Mosley being gifted a win over De La Hoya a 2nd time. I thought De La Hoya won that with room to spare. Mosley won the first fair and square though. Should have been a trilogy.

Agreed, the Mayweather Castillo scores were way too lopsided. I thought Jones won the first fight against Tarver. Just pulled it out in the last few rounds.

De La Hoya vs Sturm was a gift.
Pac vs Marquez 2+3 were gifts..arguably even the first.

Thought Trinidad was gifted against ODLH.

Not sure if Hopkins has ever got a gift?

Hatton vs Collazo some say was a gift but I actually had Hatton edging it by virtue of the KD. His gift was the ref against Tzuyu

Cotto hasn't had a gift either..close fight against Clottey though

Tyson did not get a gift agaianst Rudduck, Donovan was lucky to get the rematch.

Toney was lucky to get the points victory over McCallum.

Kalambay againt Herol Graham, especially the 2nd fight where he got knocked down

Leonard v Hearns in their second fight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
