I think some are missing the point that Guerrero is looking to slip in the date left open by Berto.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
That makes it that much crazier to me. A guy who fights at 135 wants to take a fight against one of the top 5 guys at 147 on two weeks' notice?
I do think Guerrero is a better fighter than Ortiz (certainly better technically and far more disciplined) but this seems like unnecessary risk. Rios and Kahn both have nothing scheduled -- I'd rather see Guerrero take either of those fights at 140 this spring/summer (recognizing that Rios is a tougher fight to make because Bob Arum's an asshole).
Rios vs Gamboa is the talk of the 135 division. So I don't think Rois is in the picture at all.
Guerrero should fight Paul Spadora!!!!
They both been overstepping there boundary
Guerrero just wants a bit of exposure that's all.

I'm a big fan of filling cards rather than throwing the whole thing out, I know the networks gave to hate it. One guys training shouldn't go by the wayside because of anothers injury. But on Guerrero he's way above a filler type and I think the weight jump would be sketchy on short notice... saving a date for the sake of saving a date. Also not sure HBO would want to "risk" losing a high profile maketable rematch in Ortiz vs Berto if the stars were to align and he was upset.
