See, it's perfectly okay. I don't cry and you have your laugh and no harm done. It's just a colour and some of us have a different colour. If Floyd wants to be ignorant it is stupid, but it's not the end of the world.
Floyd has done it before and it bugged me then but not anymore. If he wants to say Manny is yellow and eats rice then it shouldn't matter because it is true. It is when you take it further and say that black people deserve to be poor because they are lazy and like drugs too much, that is where it gets a bit murky for me. You can't really say that is true. In some instances it probably is, but it's too much of a generalisation. However it is a fact that most Asians use rice as a staple food. That is not controversial and neither is skin colour. They are just facts of life.
People get too hung up on the race thing IMO. I believe in the freedom to say what you like and if someone says something daft then people have every right to disagree, but you cannot force someone to just stop being ignorant. Floyd is ignorant and we all have the right to say so, but the media takes these things overboard. Is it really a controversy? Nonsense.
What do you do? Lock him up until he is forced to say that he thinks Asians are just as able to compete in sports as black people? Does it even matter? I don't think it does.

Miles you are as guilty as Floyd is of obfuscation. The issue is, you are so preconditioned yourself that you are not able to see the wood for the trees. You are so hung up with defending the concept of free speech that when someone utilises that same freedom to criticise Floyd for being dumb you accuse them of over reacting. Floyd tweeted
" Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise."
Coming from most people this would be seen as an oversimplification, FMJ saying it reveals it's true subtext, that despite all the other remarkable factors that make up the Jeremy Lin story Floyd is dismissing all of those series of remarkable achievements and is going to focus solely on the issue of race. He confirms this with his next tweet
"Other countries get to support/cheer their athletes and everything is fine. As soon as I support Black American athletes, I get criticized"
Jeremy Lin is an Asian/American and in a minority group in the NBA but because he is not Black, Floyd is not going to give him any support. He likens questioning Lin's high profile to cheering on Black athletes ? he is being racist. It is not silly to get upset about it, and your assertion that race issues in football are silly and people over react is symptomatic of you not understanding the issue. If you ignore peoples achievements and foster racial divisions with inflammatory language you are part of the problem. That goes for stupid snipes by Floyd and derogatory language by Suarez. Two ends of the spectrum but motivated by the same dangerous intent to reduce someone into a non-existent negative stereotype.

Is it really a big deal? There are positives in life and there are negatives. I just don't see the need to try and eradicate all negatives. They exist and it doesn't harm anyone because Floyd is supporting black players over those of other races.
Korean people most typically support Man Utd as they have a Korean player. Is it really harmful or negative? I like Liverpool. Should I be upset that they are supporting Man Utd because they have an asian player? It is a support based upon racial bias and it exists. Floyd does the same. I just don't regard it as something to get upset about.
It is ignorant and should be called as much, but allow people the right to be racist or biased. As long as you are not banning asian people from your fights or refusing to fight asian people then I don't think it is such a big deal.
Our politically correct media makes a mountain out of these molehills all the time. It is my opinion and perhaps many will disagree with me, but I just don't see the concern. It isn't cool, but people have unsound views sometimes. Floyd has plenty of them, but that is Floyd. Hopkins and Toney too.

The mayweather's are classic bigots
Him saying Manny is yellow and eats rice is like another person saying mayweather is black and eats fried chicken (my apologies for the comparison if anyone is offended but it was the closest steriotype I could use to get a comparison to Mayweathers comment and that would invilve his ethnicity). When it comes to race people get very upset. You can tell that Mayweather means what he says and like someone said earlier, he obviosly feels thetened by the people he is insulting.
I am white and do not care to much about people being racist to me. It may be because my ancestors have not had the problems other races have had..
I dont condone what Mayweather said but nor will it upset me as you can see in general, just looking at people on this forum, people know right from wrong.
I also have racist jokes with my friends, some being asian, some gay etc. Just as long as you are comfortable with your friends and they are comfortable with you and you know they will not get upset.
I am the fat guy of the group and I love my friends taking the mik out of me. If they said nothing then they would be avoiding it all the time and that would leave me out of the fun. Of course coming out in public and saying something like mayweather did is very stupid. When you release a statement like that then you obviosly mean it. I would never make a steriotypical joke to anyone in public or who I have known for a short amount of time.
Aparently in around a few thousand years we will all be the same colour and talking the same language anyway so by then there will be nothing to be racist about. Only us fat dudes will be laughed at.![]()
